Moss Rock Festival 1

WonderKid Studios

At the WonderKids Studios, talented local artists use nature for creative projects influenced by nature, science, and recycling. Some of this year’s workshops will be inspired by the endangered Monarch Butterfly. Here are some of the free art studios:

The Milkweed Garden
Teaching Artist: Rhiannon Reese

A large-scale painting project involving a milkweed plant background with colorful, collaged monarch butterflies flitting about.

Metamorphosis: clay caterpillars, chrysalis, and butterflies
Teaching Artist: Mohamed Jalloh

Young artists will explore all stages of the butterfly’s development.

Monarch Mayhem
Teaching Artist: Kinch Raby

Kids will create three-dimensional butterflies using string, yarn, raffia, beads, pipe cleaners, and jewels.

The Garden of Wonderful Things
Teaching Artist: Jamira Rice

Kids will create everything from flowers to bees to mermaids using pipe cleaners, styrofoam balls, markers, and lots of imagination to create sculptures for a Festival Garden.

Naughty but nice

Festival Café

Kids will love snow cones and kettle corn from D&M Snow Cones and Naughty But Nice Kettle Corn. These sweet treats are sure to make any child’s day.

Take Root: A Tree Legacy

Both you and your children can experience caring for trees in our community by picking up seeds of Sugar Maple, Buckeyes, and more to take home and plan together from the Take Root Boot: A Tree Legacy Project booth 214-216.

If you’re looking for an activity that the whole family can enjoy and a way to support local artists, then this is the festival for you. The combination of free live music, performances, seminars, food, drink, and art makes it a great event family event pick.
