If you’ve ever dreamed of being surrounded by mountains of candy, then Candytopia Atlanta is the place for you. This magical wonderland is filled with thousands of pounds of sweets that you can touch that include everything from licorice to rock candies. The Candytopia adventure starts in the lobby, where you’re greeted by Willy-Wonka-style tour guides then they will direct you to the first room which is filled with candy sculptures, including a fox made from 13,000 pieces of candy corn and a dragon sculpted from thousands of red and pink gummies. The highlight of the room, however, is a large clock that lowers from the ceiling filled with chocolates that you can take a sample of. The next stop is a secret door that opens to the rest of the exhibition which you can explore at your leisure. The last room is a cavernous space where you can spend hours in a pit full of marshmallows you can throw and catch.
When it comes to Candytopia, the more you know, the more fun you’ll have. The first thing to know is that tickets are available for specific dates and times. Children ages 3 and under are admitted free, $20 for children ages 4 to 12, and $28 for adults. Make sure your phone is charged or bring a backup camera! There’s so much to photograph in Candytopia, and with all the bright colors and sweet treats around every corner, you definitely don’t want to miss any of it. In addition to bringing your camera, make sure you download the Candytopia app before you go.
One of the most fun things about Candytopia is that there are tons of special photo opportunities throughout the experience. Thanks to the Augmented Reality (AR) mode in the app, you’ll be able to pose with 3D candy blimps and can even get a picture taken for you by an AR-enabled camera. Remember, the room is one-way, so always take every chance you get and don’t go back.
