Just in time for family holiday fun and to get rid of your cold winter blues, the Birmingham Zoo’s Glow Wild exhibit has something that will help take the chill off and warm your heart. Come see a 200-ft dragon, and watch it glow in awe-inspiring colors as it spreads its wings over your head. Or maybe you’d rather see the beautiful phoenix fly above you?
Lights, lanterns, and rides galore! Birmingham Zoo will be lit up with jaw-dropping wild animal and sea life lantern creations this winter on any given night in November, January, and December from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. You can also take a wild ride on the Red Diamond Radiant Express Train or spin the Protective Life Jingle Bell Carousel— the world is yours!

Ride Tickets & Schedule
Red Diamond Express Train and/or Protective Life Carousel
The $3.95 plus tax Single Ride Ticket is for one ride only on the train or carousel during Glow Wild. Train & Carousel tickets stop being sold at 8:00 pm. Ride tickets are for Glow Wild operation only and are not valid for any other event or during daytime hours.
Admission into the event is NOT included with the purchase of ride tickets and must be purchased separately. The train and carousel are for ages two years and up. A paying adult must accompany children under two years old on the train and carousel.
Purchase Train tickets onsite at the Train Depot and Carousel tickets at the Nourish205 restaurant walk-up window.
Extra Reminders
Glow Wild is a weather-dependent event, with nights being subject to cancellation. Please be aware that as a night event, the Zoo animals will not be viewable during Glow Wild. Online, onsite ticket sales and entrance to Glow Wild stop at 8:00 pm.
