Valentine’s Day is a special time to share love and joy, and this year, you have a wonderful opportunity to brighten the day for young patients at Children’s of Alabama. From now through February 14, 2025 you can send free, personalized greeting cards to children receiving care at the hospital. It’s a simple gesture that can bring immense happiness to a child during their hospital stay.
How to Send a Valentine’s Day Card
Participating in the card drive is easy and takes just a few minutes:
- Visit the Website: Go to Children’s of Alabama’s Valentine’s Day card page.
- Choose a Design: Select one of the available music-themed card designs.
- Personalize Your Message: Add a heartfelt message to let a young patient know you’re thinking of them.
Once you’ve completed these steps, hospital staff will print and distribute the cards to patients on Valentine’s Day. This initiative is sponsored by Spire, a proud supporter of Children’s of Alabama since 2017. Spire will also match donations made during this card drive up to $5,000, doubling the impact of your generosity.

Guidelines for Donations
To ensure the safety and well-being of all patients, Children’s of Alabama has specific guidelines for donations:
- Accepted: Online greeting cards and monetary donations.
- Not Accepted: In-person gift donations, handmade cards, food or candy, stuffed animals, toys depicting violence, religious items, crocheted or knit items, and gently used or homemade items.
These protocols are in place due to infection prevention and control measures. For more information about donating to Children’s of Alabama patients, please visit their Foundation page.
Why Your Participation Matters

Your participation not only brings joy to a child but also supports the broader mission of Children’s of Alabama in providing compassionate care to all patients.
Take a moment today to send a card and make a difference in a child’s life this Valentine’s Day.
