Movies on the Mountain is a brand-new outdoor movie series hosted by Vulcan Park & Museum, and it’s giving families a fresh way to enjoy film nights in Birmingham. Organized by the Vulcan Junior Board, this four-part series brings beloved family movies to one of the city’s most scenic spots—right under the stars and overlooking the skyline.
If you’re looking for an easy, fun evening with your kids (without a lot of planning or screen time guilt), this might be just what you need. Think: classic movies, fresh popcorn, and plenty of space to stretch out on the lawn.
What Is Movies on the Mountain?
This new event series turns the lawn at Vulcan Park into an open-air movie theater, complete with:
- Family-friendly films
- Food vendors and classic movie snacks like popcorn and cotton candy
- Beer and wine for adults
- Special appearances from Vulcan’s mascot, “V,” who’s always ready for a hug or photo op
Just bring your blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening with the city lights as your backdrop.
