Grandview Medical Center held a special event for mothers and daughters to have open, honest conversations about puberty. GIRL TALK! encouraged girls to talk about what’s going on with their bodies and empowerment.
The morning was led by a panel of Grandview physicians including Ashley Gooding, M.D., and Mackenzie Woodson, M.D., with Complete Women’s Care of Alabama, Virginia Winston, M.D., with Women’s Health Specialists of Birmingham, and Erin Showalter, D.O., with Grandview Medical Group OBGYN. Panelists encouraged attendees to ask questions and freely talk about issues that they had never felt comfortable addressing before.
