Join Urban Purpose for a night to remember at a record-breaking dinner table!
This family-friendly community event, presented by Stewardly Advisors, aims to set the record for the “Biggest Table in Birmingham!” Your ticket gets you delicious Bob Sykes Bar-B-Q, live music, and fun for the whole family!
Guests have the opportunity to cover the cost of additional meals for our unhoused brothers and sisters, who will also join us for the meal and entertainment — because everyone deserves a seat at the table.
Urban Purpose seeks to empower Birmingham’s homeless and hurting population by building relationships, meeting needs in crisis, and rebuilding lives. You’ll find their day shelter, the Compound, nestled in the heart of downtown Birmingham. It’s a home for the homeless to grab a hot shower, do their laundry, watch TV, or play a board game.
The nonprofit also provides unhoused neighbors with shelf-stable food, a clothing closet, and hygiene kits, in addition to periodic special events like live music and wellness checks.
These simple, dignified solutions open the door to meaningful relationships and a willingness to explore long-term solutions like addiction recovery programs, transitional housing, employment programs, and other opportunities that help clients achieve their goals for a full life.
