Childcare Resources is a Birmingham, Alabama based non-profit organization whose mission is to make quality care and education of children happen by providing information, education, and assistance to families, providers of child care, and the community.
RESOURCE AND REFERRAL PROGRAM
Childcare Resources’ Resource and Referral Program is a free service that guides families through the process of locating quality child care. Finding child care can be difficult, especially in central Alabama where there are nearly 500 child care programs.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Childcare Resources’ Supplemental Child Care Program (SCCP) assists eligible parents with paying for the cost of child care. Based on a sliding scale related to family size and income, parents pay a portion of the cost of care, and Childcare Resources pays a portion.
Parents can choose from any legally operating child care provider willing to accept payment from Childcare Resources. Providers must register with Childcare Resources before they can begin receiving payment. Apply online today at www.ccr-bhm.org/financial-assistance.
HEADSTART PROGRAM
Founded in 1965, Head Start serves nearly one million children and their families around the nation, partnering with families to ensure their children’s school readiness and promote family well-being. Childcare Resources partnership model with local schools, child care programs, and the community.
The mission of Childcare Resources’ Head Start Program is to provide comprehensive services to young children and their families through community partnerships that promote school readiness, healthy family engagement and developmental services. Childcare Resources Early Head Start/Head Start Program is enrolling now with the following services available for children aged six weeks to 5 years old.
