The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to get into the festive mood than by watching a parade? Every year, Santa Claus, festive floats, and marching bands make their way through the parade route, while families line the streets.

If you are looking for the best Christmas parades in Birmingham check out our list below.

Birmingham Christmas Parade Finder

DECEMBER 1

Gardendale Christmas Parade
925 Main Street

Gardendale Christmas Parade

The 36th annual Gardendale Christmas Parade will begin at Fieldstown Road and end at Main Street. It is organized by the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce. The parade will feature festive floats, marching bands, Santa Claus, and more.

DECEMBER 1

Montevallo Christmas Parade
Main Street

The Montevallo Christmas Parade is organized and sponsored by the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce. The line-up is at Montevallo High School Parking Lot at 4:30 PM. It will start at 5 PM with JQ’s One Man Swing Band Christmas Tunes, followed by the parade at 6 PM. After the parade is the tree lighting on Broad Street.

DECEMBER 2

Clanton Christmas Parade
The Senior Connection

The Clanton Christmas Parade is one of the most highly anticipated events in the community. The parade will be held on December 2, 5:30 PM, immediately followed by Christmas Tree Lighting at 7 PM.

DECEMBER 3

Bluff Park Christmas Parade
Bluff Park

Bluff Park Christmas Parade

The Bluff Park Christmas Parade is back with the theme “Nostalgic Christmas”. This year’s parade will feature floats, marching bands, and more. The parade will start at the Bluff Park Community Park next to the Shades Cliff pool and end there. Top float winners will be rewarded with gift cards to local restaurants and businesses.

DECEMBER 3

Alabaster Christmas Parade
Highway 31 South

On December 3, Alabaster will host its annual Christmas parade. The parade will begin at 10 AM on Highway 31 South. The parade theme is “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” which is fitting for a community known for its natural beauty—the towering pines and evergreen trees of the area create a gorgeous setting for sleigh rides and winter wonderland.

DECEMBER 3

Christmas in Helena
Old Town Street

A Christmas Parade is a yearly tradition in Helena, which will be held in Old Town streets. Plenty of food and drink will be available at the end of the route, as well as performances and floats. You will also see Santa Claus riding a fire truck at the closing.

DECEMBER 4

Mountain Brook Christmas Parade
Mountain Brook Village

The Mountain Brook Christmas Parade organized by the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce will be held on December 4 at 3 PM. It starts at the Village Creek Shopping Center and ends at the Mountain Brook Country Club. The parade will feature floats, fire trucks, bands, choral groups, dancers, and St. Nicholas himself.

DECEMBER 5

West Alabama Christmas Parade
Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority

The 46th Annual West Alabama Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Tuscaloosa. The parade will begin promptly at 6:30 PM with Santa Claus leading the way. This year’s theme, “A Retro Christmas,” will be carried out through floats and marching bands. Spectators should come prepared to see a flurry of candy-cane-striped hot air balloons and toys brought to life by the magic of strobe lights.

DECEMBER 7

Pinson Christmas Parade
Spring Street at 1st Baptist Church

Pinson Christmas Parade

Celebrate the holidays with the Pinson Christmas Parade. The parade features floats, marching bands, and more. This year’s theme is “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and will start at Spring Street down to Bicentennial Park. Pinson First Baptist Daycare and Kindergarten will supervise this event.

DECEMBER 9

Mistletoe on Main
1210 6th St Leeds

The Mistletoe on the Main event will be held on December 9 at 4 PM. Visitors can enjoy a scenic ride through the historic downtown Leeds district.

The proceeds from the parade go to Leeds Main Street for the restoration of historical buildings for shops, restaurants, and other businesses.

DECEMBER 10

Trussville Christmas Parade
Mall area in Historic Downtown Trussville

The theme for the Trussville Christmas Parade is “Candyland”. The parade will begin on Parkway Drive, turn right onto Highway 11, and right again onto Chalkville Mountain Road. The parade will end after it passes by the town Christmas tree near the Mall.

DECEMBER 10

Pelham Christmas Parade
Pelham Civic Complex Ice Arena

This year’s Pelham Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 5 PM. The parade will feature local businesses as well as community groups and organizations that are part of the Pelham community.

DECEMBER 10

Hueytown Christmas Parade
Hueytown First United Methodist Church

The Hueytown Christmas Parade is a chance for local businesses and organizations to show off their holiday spirit and creativity.

The theme for this year is “Polar Express Christmas”. There will be prized for the best float, vehicle, and golf cart, ranging from $50 for third place to $200 for first place.

DECEMBER 10

Bessemer Christmas Parade
Historic Downtown Bessemer

The city of Bessemer’s Annual Christmas Parade will take place on December 10. The event kicks off at 2 PM in Historic Downtown Bessemer. The Bessemer Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing the parade with an “Oh Christmas Tree” theme.

DECEMBER 11

Vestavia Hills Christmas Parade
Liberty Park Softball Parking Lot

The Vestavia Hills Holiday Parade & Celebration will fill the streets with floats, lights, and fun! The parade will start in Liberty Park Softball Parking Lot and to Alston Meadows Park.
